Profile: W. Wayne Wicks
Mr. Wicks began his career training as a professional investigator and law enforcement officer after graduating Cum Laude from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1972. Mr. Wicks started with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department in Louisiana as a Patrol Deputy, and Crime Scene Investigator. Upon leaving Louisiana he went to Houston to continue building his career in law enforcement.
In Houston, Mr. Wicks was accepted into the Houston Police Department where he spent two years in patrol before being transferred into the Special Investigations Division: Vice and Narcotics, working undercover. After working in Special Investigation two years he was transferred to the Criminal Intelligence Division of the Houston Police Department and detached to the Harris County Organized Crime Unit where he worked until entering private industry.
Since leaving law enforcement Mr. Wicks has been involved the investigations of energy industry related crimes. He is a member of the Energy Security Council and American Society of Industrial Security. He is currently on the ESC’s Law Enforcement Liaison Committee, which is charged with educating law enforcement officer’s from local, state and federal agencies in energy related crimes and a past member to the ASIS Energy Committee. Mr. Wicks holds an Instructors’ certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standard.
Profile: Jack Cantwell
Retired in 1993 as Assistant Chief of Police of the Village Police Department. Prior to his tenure with the Village Police Department Mr. Cantwell started his law enforcement career with the Texas Department of Public Safety. From the D.P.S. he went into municipal law enforcement, joining the Bellaire, Texas Police Department. During Mr. Cantwell's tenure with the Bellaire Police Department he served as Captain for eight years. Mr. Cantwell then joined the Village Police Department, where he spent 25 years. While at the Village Police Department mr. Cantwell worked robbery and homicide. He also spent 11 years assigned to the harris County Organized Crime task force where he was Deputy Field Commander for his last 4 years there. Mr. Cantwell is also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy.
