W. Wayne Wicks
Began law enforcement with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department after graduating Cum Laude from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Following Mr. Wicks’ tenure with the Calcasieu Sheriff Department, he went to the Houston Police Department. After completing 2 years in Patrol, Mr. Wicks was assigned to special investigation in undercover for vice and narcotics. Then ending his career assigned to CID/Harris Co. Organized Crime Task Force. Mr. Wicks attended numerous schools and was also a certified instructor for the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Mr. Wicks has spent the last 20 years involved in private investigation in the Oil & Gas Industry. Mr. Wicks is a member of the Energy Security Council and American Society of Industrial Security. He is on the Energy Committee for A.S.I.S. and a committee member/instructor for the ESC law enforcement liaison education committee. He has also completed training in Executive Protection.
Lynn Gibbons
Lynn Gibbons provides our classes on Drug and Alcohol Awareness. She has been personally teaching classes all over the United States, since 1989. The unique aspect of her classes is the flexibility to control the content to the specific needs and time specifications of the client. Ms. Gibbons also provides the required training under the Department of Transportation’s 49 CFR Part 40.
Ms. Gibbons has been certified by DATIA as a Certified Professional Collector Trainer.
- Served on the Oklahoma AD HOC Advisory committee to define the rules to implement the “Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act”.
- Completed Training Program in Executive Protection.

Sergeant Paul Shepherd
Sergeant Paul Shepherd is a 25 year law enforcement veteran for the Odessa Police Department and is currently the supervisor of the Metro Homicide Unit and the Crimes Against Persons Unit. He was also a Sergeant with the Internal Affairs Unit. He has over 17 years of investigative experience.
He is a certified instructor for the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education and holds a Master’s Peace Officers License. He is a past SWAT Team Member and has been one of his agency’s Hostage Negotiators for 18 years.
Sergeant Shepherd has trained over 300 hostage negotiators and recently utilized to train personnel from the United States Military. He is a Vice President of Training for the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators and has presented numerous trainings for agencies throughout the state. He also holds an advanced certification in Critical Incident Stress Management and has been involved in numerous posttraumatic debriefings for law enforcement as well as private industry. He has received numerous departmental and state awards for his law enforcement efforts.
Sergeants Shepherd’s experience in the negotiation process combined with his experience in the investigation of workplace violence incidents and homicides bring a realistic and unique approach to meet the challenges of prevention strategies for businesses today.
Jack Cantwell
Retired in 1993 as Assistant Chief of Police of the Village Police Department. Prior to his tenure with the Village Police Department Mr. Cantwell started his law enforcement career with the Texas Department of Public Safety. From the D.P.S. he went into municipal law enforcement, joining the Bellaire, Texas Police Department. During Mr. Cantwell's tenure with the Bellaire Police Department he served as Captain for eight years. Mr. Cantwell then joined the Village Police Department, where he spent 25 years. While at the Village Police Department Mr. Cantwell worked robbery and homicide. He also spent 11 years assigned to the harris County Organized Crime task force where he was Deputy Field Commander for his last 4 years there. Mr. Cantwell is also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy.
August "Butch" Dupuis
August “Butch” Dupuis entered law enforcement in 1978 as a patrolman with the St. Martinville Police Department in St. Martinville, La. until 1981 and during this period Mr. Dupuis worked with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office working undercover narcotic investigations in nine Louisiana parishes. In 1981 Mr. Dupuis transferred to the16th Judicial District Attorney’s office as an Investigator and Trial Assistant until 1984 when Mr. Dupuis accepted a position with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff Office as the Lieutenant in charge of the Narcotic/Vice division. In 1988 Mr. Dupuis was promoted to Captain (Chief of Detectives) commanding the Criminal Division of the Sheriff’s Office where he attended numerous State and Federal Law Enforcement training and continuing education seminars. Before Mr. Dupuis retirement in October 2003, he was promoted by Sheriff Michael Patin to his Administrative staff to the rank of Major, responsible to the Sheriff for the Risk and Threat Assessment for the Office of Emergency Preparedness/Homeland Security in the Parish of St. Martin.
Kaki Moore & Koda
Kakie Moore began working dogs and horses in Search and Rescue in the Catskill Mountains of New York in the 1960’s. Ms. Moore moved to the West Coast of Florida in 1972, began a successful Labrador Retriever breeding kennel in the 1980’s and founded a volunteer Search and Rescue unit several years later. This Search and Rescue unit was involved in some very high profile cases throughout the state of Florida and enjoyed a very successful working relationship with units in the south and north of the state. During this time Ms. Moore also instructed law enforcement K-9 Units and volunteer Search and Rescue K-9 handlers at seminars throughout the United States and Canada. Ms. Moore moved to St. Martinville, La. in 2000 and was asked by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office to join them and assist training with their K-9 Unit as well as on Search and Rescue missions. Ms. Moore graduated the St. Martin Parish Training Academy and was POST Certified in 2002. Ms. Moore and her K-9 Koda also worked narcotic detection in schools, jails and 18 wheelers during this time. Upon resigning in 2004, Ms. Moore obtained license for private investigation agency and continues to breed quality Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds.

Betty Barker
Betty Barker brings 26 years of management experience to the Wayne Wicks team. Initially, her career involved 17 years managing an office for a non-destructive testing company. She was introduced to the workplace drug and alcohol safety requirements for the chemical plants in the Gulf Coast area in the 1980’s. During the next few years, Betty served as a Division Drug and Alcohol Safety Coordinator. She joined the Wicks team in 1997 as the Office Manager and Operations Manager. She continued in this role, through the acquisition by National Safety Alliance. Ms. Barker re-joined Wayne Wicks in 2001 as Office/Operations Manager. Betty’s duties also include the Medical Review Officer’s Assistant. Ms. Barker has attended seminars by NCMS and management classes by DATIA to add to her acquired expertise in the industry.
Raymond Hunter
Raymond Hunter is one of our highly experienced collection technicians. Mr. Hunter came from a background that included 16 years as a supply boat captain in the off-shore drilling industry and 9 years in the safety supply industry. Raymond is a DOT Certified Breath Alcohol Technician and a DOT Certified Collection Technician. In the last three years with Wayne Wicks and Associates, Raymond has collected thousands of DOT and non-DOT samples in a multitude of settings. He has extensive experience working overseas in Africa, Russia, Egypt, Trinidad, and our own Gulf of Mexico. Raymond’s key to success is in approaching his work with determination and professionalism. He works closely with the clients’ superintendents, keeping them well informed and so as not to disrupt their daily operations.
Kimberly Campozano
Kimberly Campozano is our senior customer service coordinator. She works closely with designated clients and coordinates their programs. Kimberly has 13 years experience in the Drug and Alcohol industry, by providing training, collections, office management and MRO Assistant. In addition to being a valuable asset to the company, Kimberly is certified to be a Trainer for both Drug and Alcohol testing.
