Drug & Alcohol Testing Services

The majority of our drug and alcohol testing services are about maintaining a safe and productive drug-free environment. To do this, we provide a menu of solutions for hiring and managing your workforce through a variety of specialized services.

Whether your company prefers full program management, or just needs part of our services, we guarantee your satisfaction.

Program Management

You decide what you need. For some clients, we manage their drug and alcohol program completely from policy development, through education, testing and maintaining files. Other clients prefer to use us to service certain areas. Regardless of how you choose to use us, you’ll find that our customer service is unmatched.

We’ll work with you to determine your needs and provide as much support as requested. Below is a list of program services. Consider it a starting point from which we’ll make suggestions for streamlining, time efficiency and billing solutions.

  • Policy development
  • Education
  • Establishing clinics
  • Arranging web services
  • Processing results
  • Providing a Medical Review Officer
  • Creating Stats
  • Maintaining Files
Policy Development

Are you considering a drug and alcohol testing program? Then we’ve caught you at the right time in the process. Because when a company is planning on implementing a program like this, we always recommend that the first step is a well-constructed policy.

Your policy on drug and alcohol use should be the foundation of your program. We can help you construct a policy that will outline who is covered by the policy, when testing will occur, what drugs will be included on the test, the testing levels, confidentiality, consequences of a positive test, name of the laboratory and the name of the Medical Review Officer. We will set you up for success.

Drug & Alcohol Education

An educated person has the knowledge to make better decisions. That’s why we place such an emphasis on education whether as a part of a safety program, for parents in your company, or as required Supervisory Training.

First and foremost you want your employees, managers or foremen to understand your safety program and to have the ability to ask questions about company policy and recognize what is expected. That’s just not possible with a video or computer based program.

Additionally, we’ve found that drug and alcohol problems seldom begin and end in the workplace. So we offer classes for parents about drug and alcohol use among children and teenagers. These are perfect for brown bag lunches or as part of an on-going wellness program. And not only do your employees benefit, but their families do as well.

And finally, we provide the required Supervisory Training under DOT part 49. This training is a minimum of 2 hours and covers the requirements stated by the DOT. A certificate of training is issued when training is complete.

On Site Collections & Testing

This is all about cost savings. When you send an employee for drug testing, you have to consider the lost work time, travel time and clinic wait time. Multiply that by several employees and the solution is obvious, you need an on site technician.

Since 1992, we’ve sent our technicians to hangers, garages, warehouses, drilling rigs, corporate offices worldwide and schools just down the street. You tell us where, when and how many, and we’ll make the arrangements for the technician and transporting samples to the lab. Yes, it’s that simple.

Our collection technicians are all trained for offshore safety certifications i.e. Huet, IADC, Gulf Safe and Marine Survival, and hold TWIC card certifications.

In House Collections & Drug Screening

Sometimes you need answers right away. That’s why we have collection technicians within our offices in Houston and La Porte, Texas who are available for “instant testing.”

Trained in proper collection procedures for both DOT and non-DOT programs, we can quickly and conveniently check for drugs and alcohol whether for a custody case, probation testing or new personnel who need to be on the job fast.

No appointment is necessary, just fill in and email our online form. For samples to reach the lab the same day, you must come in between 9 am and 4 pm.

Forensics Testing (unknown substance)

What is this? You’re an employer who just stumbled upon a small bag of white powder while getting a file from an employee’s desk. Perhaps you’re a mom who found some unidentified pills in your son’s backpack. Or maybe your office custodian was stuck by a used syringe while emptying the trash in the women’s bathroom. You’ve found something and you need answers.

Our team can evaluate the substance, identify it, and quickly report back to you with our findings. It’s peace of mind made easy.

Department of Transportation & Non Department of Transportation Testing

A brief explanation. Some companies fall under governmental administrations that require drug and alcohol testing. These are called DOT tests. However, the majority of testing is for home or business purposes and we refer to this type of testing as Non-DOT. Wayne Wicks and Associates is certified to perform both types of testing.

Nationwide Clinic Network

Don’t live in Texas? Not a problem. Wayne Wicks and Associates has organized a database of clinics that are available for drug and/or alcohol testing that covers the US as well as some foreign countries: our Nationwide Clinic Network. We have pre-qualified these clinics and hospitals to assure the highest quality procedures.

So whether you need to test a new college graduate for a position in your California office or group of employees at your branch office in western Oklahoma, we’ll take care of the location, the forms and delivering the results.

Random Generation Service

Some clients prefer to remain completely apart from the process of choosing which employees will be tested monthly or quarterly. We understand.

In this case, you provide a list of employees and we’ll be responsible for randomly generating the list of those to be tested.

Medical Review Officer (MRO)

When the drug or alcohol test results come back from the laboratory, someone must make the call about prescription medication and/or illegal or controlled medications. That person is the Medical Review Officer (MRO).

For this service, Wayne Wicks and Associates use MRO EXPRESS. This full time medical review company is led by Dr. Lopez, a national MRO with 13 years experience. Due to his extensive level of experience, Dr. Lopez is skilled in handling complex situations for companies with unusual circumstances and demands. Through his continued education in the field, he receives the newest up to date regulations and protocols.
